The COVID-19 Framework and Business Support

New Zealand moved to the new COVID-19 Protection Framework at 11:59pm Thursday 2nd December. At all levels (red, orange and green) businesses will be able to operate, in some form.

Resurgence Support Payment (RSP)

Resurgence Support Payments applications can still be made for the 4th, 5th & 6th rounds. Applications will close midnight Thursday 13th January 2022. 

Pay rates are:

  • Round 4 - $1,500 per eligible business plus $400 per full time equivalent (FTE) employee, up to $21,000.  
  • Round 5 & 6 - $3,000 per eligible business plus $400 per full time equivalent (FTE) employee, up to $43,000

 

Transition Payment

Applications for the one-off Transition Payment are now available to eligible business, in recognition of the duration of higher alert levels in Auckland, Waikato & Northland.

The test period for the Transition Payment is Sunday 3rd October 2021 to Tuesday 9th November 2021 and eligibility criteria is the same as the RSP.

This one-off payment is at a higher base rate than the current RSP, $4,000 per business plus $400 per FTE up to a cap of 50 FTEs – a maximum payment of $24,000.

The Transition Payment application will be available through myIR.

 

Additional support for Auckland businesses

Businesses in Auckland will be able to apply for up to $3,000 worth of advice and planning support, and then receive up to $4,000 to implement that advice. There will also be funding available for businesses to apply for mental health support for their employees.
